Gone Sober (for 2.5+ years⁠🌞)

I don’t normally write about personal things, mainly because I’m a privacy nut, but I want to let you all know that I’ve been sober for more than two and a half years.🎉🙌🎊💃  It’s been a hard couple1 years and I’ve often thought “I wish I could have a glass of wine,” but I’ve resisted and now feel like I’m over some kind of hump. And will hopefully stay this way for the rest of my life.

If we meet in real life, I don’t mind at all if you have a drink. Please don’t be judgmental if I have a low-⁠alcohol beer, low-⁠alcohol wine,2 or sweet that contains liqueur.3


2025-April-20 Update:  On old.reddit.com/r/popular/, I learned that as of 2025-April-20 Eminem has been sober for seventeen years. For me, this is the day I’ve been sober for two years and two months. It’s cool😎 that Eminem and I both quit on the 20th of a month.   3. For my two-⁠years-⁠sober soiree, I bought a box of chocolates and then discovered that some of the chocolates contain liqueur. I decided that – for me – they are in the same category as no- and low-⁠alcohol beer and wine, i.e., OK. I’m actually having a chocolate that contains “cream & almond liqueur” as I write this.🍫👌 ↩︎
